Statement of Faith

We Believe…

There is one God eternally existent in three persons; God, the Father, God, the Son, (known as Jesus, the Christ and Yeshua, the Messiah), and God, the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, eternally coexistent with the Father and the Spirit. In His earthly incarnation, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, embodied and exemplified the life of God, was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day, ascended to the Father, and will return again in power and glory to establish His kingdom once and for all.

His blood shed on the cross of Calvary is the only atonement for the sin of man, and salvation is available only by grace through faith and trust in Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection for the pardon of sin.

The Bible is the inspired, authoritative word of God. It is the Christian’s guide to all matters of faith and doctrine, and in it’s original languages is infallible and inerrant, and the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.

Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our life and to follow Christ. It, too, is a gift of grace, and positions us for regeneration (being born again) by the Holy Spirit. For anyone to know God, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

Sanctification is the lifelong process whereby God’s word and His Spirit complete the development of Christ’s character in us through our submission and obedience. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

The Spirit of Christ indwells all who have acknowledged Jesus as the Son of God and have received the gift of salvation by grace through faith in Him. He produces in us the fruit listed in Galatians 5:22 & 23; Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. The Holy Spirit empowers every Christian to witness to Who Jesus is and what He has done in our life, and to do the work of Christ in the world.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are to be desired and expected to demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, to confirm the power of the gospel, and to see the kingdom of God advanced in the world. These include the gifts listed in Romans 12:4-8, 1st Corinthians 12:4-28, Ephesians, 4:4-7, and 1st Peter 4:9-11

The Church is the body of Christ on earth, appointed to fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19 & 20, which is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things Jesus has commanded.

Every human being becomes an eternal soul at the moment of conception, and in the resurrection of the physical body from the grave, the saved will go to an eternal dwelling with God and the lost to eternal separation from Him.

Living the Christian life is not about religion and rules but about relationship. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Love is the motivating factor which empowers us to life a holy (not perfect) life. Grace keeps us when we fail. Righteousness is not required from us; it is given to us. “God made Him Who knew no sin to become sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor. 5:21 “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Cor. 9:15
